Field Trip 1 – Sea level rise impacts and adaptations in Crescent Beach (Cancelled)

Join Claire Hay for an afternoon at the beach as we investigate the challenges of sea level rise in the beautiful community of Crescent Beach in South Surrey. Crescent Beach is at the centre of the City of Surrey’s Coastal Flooding Adaptation Strategy (CFAS) and as a community is threatened with 1m of sea level rise by 2100. In this field trip, Claire will introduce participants to the geomorphology of Crescent Beach and talk about ways in which the community has been engaged in adaptation planning with the City of Surrey.
